The Bustle

The long train flowing behind your wedding gown will look beautiful as you walk down the aisle.  However, at the reception, it would be close to impossible to dance with the train, so we design what is called a bustle.  Typically, under the train there is a satin ribbon loop.  This is not the bustle, it is only to loop over the hanger when hanging your dress up.  Gone are the days of looping a ribbon over your wrist and trying to dance!

It's Personal

Your bustle is your personal preference.  Some gowns just naturally look better with a French Bustle (or under bustle) and some with an American (or over bustle), but it is your choice to decide which style you like and what looks best on you.  We will show you different styles (if you want) or we can pin it as we think the bustle will look the best and you can give us feedback.  It is typical to have some of the train still sweeping the floor, but how much is up to you.

For more involved bustles, we have different ways to help you know how to connect each point.  We will show you this at your final fitting and let your guest videotape the process.  If we are not delivering your gown to your venue, we will send you home with your gown bustled so you can remember how to do it.

The bustle is a gorgeous look to the back of any gown and will free you up to enjoy your reception without the fear of someone stepping on your beautiful wedding gown.
